World-Renown Pet Author, Margaret H. Bonham wins Muse Award and IAMS® Responsible Cat Ownership Awards for best books

Foster City, CA -- Margaret H. Bonham, world-renown pet author of 22 books such as "A Dog's Wisdom" and "Introduction to Dog Agility," Bonham is pleased to announce winning the coveted Cat Writers' Association's Muse Medallion for writing excellence in Cat Heath and General Care Books, along with her coauthor, Dr. Debra Eldredge DVM.  Bonham is also the recipient of the coveted IAMS® Responsible Cat Ownership award for best body of work that promotes responsible cat ownership.

The two winners are the Muse winner, "Cancer and Your Pet" coauthored with Eldredge (Capital Books, 2005), and IAMS® Responsible Cat Ownership winner, "Bring Me Home: Cats Make Great Pets" (Howell Book House, 2005).  Both books are available through bookstores and online at Bonham's website, Amazon.com and other online booksellers.

"I'm really delighted for the wins," Bonham said.  "I'm more often known as a dog writer because that's where I got my start, but cats are very important too.  There are more cats than dogs as pets, and I feel that cats have gotten the short end when it comes to care and training."  Bonham felt this so strongly that she took on writing "Bring Me Home: Cats Make Great Pets" and "Cancer and Your Pet," making a fine debut in cat writing.

"Bring Me Home: Cats Make Great Pets" is a family book for the first-time pet owners. Chocked full of checklists and pages to make a cat care notebook, it's for any first-time cat owner, or any family who wants to get the kids involved in the cat's care.

"Cancer and Your Pet" provides information on the very latest treatments and research in cancer and pets, covering cancer in both dogs and cats.

"Cover to cover, this book is filled with the current best thinking on cancer and lift the cloud of darkness that often surrounds this surprisingly, highly treatable disease.  Whether you want treatment options or comfort, increased quality of life or quantity of life for your beloved four-legged family member, 'Cancer and Your Pet' belongs on your bookshelf."  Dr. Marty Becker, resident veterinarian on ABC TV's Good Morning America. Knight Ridder pet columnist, nationally syndicated host of "Pets Unleashed" pet talk radio show, co-author of "Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul," co-author of "The Healing Power of Pets."
